Most Clinton backers say Palin's too far a stretch
By GottaLaff
Looks like Sarah's glass ceiling is still intact:
Evidence so far shows that Palin is not drawing a lot of support from voters outside the Republican base.
An ABC News poll released Friday found the selection of Palin makes people likelier to vote for McCain by just 6 percentage points - half the 12-point margin by which Sen. Joe Biden makes them more likely to support Obama.
And as for Clinton supporters, eight in 10 said they'd vote for Obama in November, according to a Gallup Poll conducted last weekend after McCain announced his selection of Palin.
But (there's always a "but"):
And what about all the issues on which Palin differs so sharply from Clinton? "Principle trumps issues for this group," [a Clinton supporter leaning toward Palin] says of her and others like her.
In that case, Obama should win hands down.
To Gloria Steinem, the nation's most recognizable feminist, that logic is mystifying. [...] "Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton."
Ohhh, nice one, Gloria.
[A] Florida voter who's shifted to Obama [will] work to convince fellow Clintonites that they shouldn't be swayed by the woman on the Republican ticket.
"I was insulted when she referred to Hillary and the 18 million cracks in the ceiling," Goodman says, referring to Clinton's line that her primary votes put that many cracks in the glass ceiling that has held women back. "I don't believe Hillary was making those 18 million cracks for Sarah Palin."
That's true, but there is reason to believe that Sarah Palin has 18 million cracks. They're being revealed by the hour.

Palin vs. Clinton
I am a Feminist. I supported Clinton while she began her run for the presidency. I feel that my intelligence has been insulted. For McCain to think for a minute that because he picked a woman...women would automatically flock to the polls in support. Not I. Palin does not even hold a candle to Hilary. Hilary is for the people, she has experience and is not a "barracuda". I give major props to Ann and Nancy Wilson for not allowing their song to be butchered by being represented by the likes of Palin. Palin does not have the experience necessary to run a country. Nor do I want a bulldog conducting foreign affairs. I am done with seeing our country represented by the likes of Palin, McCain and Bush. Why do they always have to talk about war...whatever happened to peace? I agree with Gloria Steinem..."Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton". I am a woman, I am a Feminist and I will be voting for Barack Obama...his positivism gives me hope.
